Dr. Pepper's birthday present.....

I have noticed all these different ways of doing "Subway Art" here lately and I pretty much fell in love with it the moment I saw it but for those of you who know me....well, you know that I have to put that little "Cb spin" on everything I do.

  It has layers, glitter for pizazz, bright colors, texture (because everything I do has some kind of texture) and all different fonts. Mine also go in different directions, etc top to bottom - not just left to right.

It took me FOREVER to make but it was fun to do and I was pretty excited to give it to him:)!

I've been a little busy.......

I haven't posted in what seems like FOREVER!!! I have been a busy little bee here lately! I am happy to say that I have completed a few of my projects on the "to do" list though so I can finally take a breather. Only for a minute though because as soon as I take one off that list, I add 2 more ha ha ha.

     An old friend of mine put it best when he said "Candace, you are a do-er and the worst part about a do-er is that it makes us lazy asses look even worse when you get so much doin' done" ha ha ha

Not pictured is what I have been working on for a little over a month. I should have it up soon. It's Dr. Peppers' birthday present and it is almost complete! I only have a few things to add as finishing touches. His birthday is Tuesday and a good friend of mine is making him his very own coconut cake. He loves it and I am not a fan so I thought to have her make him a little one just for him! DUH! It is his birthday.  I have also been working on Christmas cards and a baby doll for my niece's birthday in October. My days are never dull I tell you and I am never at a loss of things to do ha ha ha

A little addition to the Man Cave.....

So as most of you know I am addicted to the Goodwill and to Thrift Stores of any kind.  While I was shopping around last week at the Salvation Army I came across a piece of wood that made me think of my next project. A little something to spruce up the "Man Cave". I paid a whopping $ 0.99 for it and it came out pretty good if you ask me! Here is how I did it......

      Step one:

              Find a piece of wood that you can work with easily.

     Step two:
  

                                     
                Pick your paint color and start to cover......

        Step three:

               Cover it a few times if you need to so that the original color doesn't show through easily.

 Step four:
                                                 

          Pick the color for your lettering & write away! You may have to go over this a few times also.

 Step five:

Distress it or scratch the paint wherever you wish to make it look great! Remember it is going in the man cave so it needs to look WORNOUT! ha ha

I took a screwdriver and scratched the parts that look a bit shiny and then rubbed my finger over the black paint for a smudged look.

                                      

Dr. Pepper ;oved it and it hung it in his "man Cave" as soon as I got home on Sunday. :) I can't wait for him to see the project I am working on for him for his birthday.......I think he is going to LOVE IT!!!!
