Selecting The Right Handbag For Your Body
While most fashion rules have become more relaxed over time, there are still a few that are worth their proverbial weight in fashion gold. Case in point, the subject of this blog: selecting the right handbag for your body. The handbag you carry has a huge impact on your overall look, so selecting the right handbag for your body is worth a little extra investment in time and effort.

Flatter Your Figure

The right handbag can enhance your assets and down play the rest. It’s not magic,  but selecting the right handbag for your body can be a quick fashion fixer upper! Plus, you don’t have to spend a fortune on a bag that works for you; there are many affordable and stylish options to choose from.

The Trend Factor: One Size Does Not Fit All

Trends are fresh and fun and ever-changing! Not all trends can suit everyone. You need to keep your frame top of mind when selecting the right handbag for your body. This can be difficult, especially when a trend is particularly eye catching and irresistable. But while passing on the “it” bag of the moment might take a little restraint, selecting an equally cute bag that is the right handbag for your body can give you much more satisfaction.  In addition, you can look for trendy “styling” and details that match your personality once you identify the right type of handbag for your body. Your handbag will always complement your ensemble if it is the right balance for your body frame, whether you switch your handbag out from season to season or week to week.

Guidelines to Consider When Selecting the Right Handbag for Your Body

Handbag Length: Balanced is Better

If you have that classic swimmer’ physique (shoulders broader than hips) or a bustier frame, then avoid handbags with short handles that fall at the bust. You don’t need to draw any additional attention to your upper body, since you are naturally developed in that area. Opt however for handbags with long handles (there are so many to choose from) or carry a clutch. You will create a more balanced look.

If you have curvy hips or a little extra around the middle, don’ t select handbags that fall at the midriff.  Given your natural endowments, no more attention to that area is needed. Choose handbags with shorter handles, which fall under the arm or well above the waist area. You will draw the eye upwards and create more balance.

Handbag Size: Proportion Is Key

Finding a bag that is in proportion to your frame is also key to selecting the right bag for your body. Full-bodied women with large frames should avoid small handbags. Small handbags make tall or plus size women appear larger.  Instead, opt for medium or large size handbags to keep everything proportional. Petite women, shorter than 5’2, should avoid wide or oversized handbags.  Instead, to elongate your appearance, choose small to medium size handbags. In this case, the average woman has a little more flexibility, straddling the midsize bag category with the ability to go up a wee bit or down a wee bit in size.

Handbag Shape: Opposites Attract

In general, women of all sizes should aim for choosing handbag shapes that are the opposite of their body types.  So, if you are tall and thin, opt for a round, slouchy handbag.  If you are petite and curvy, pick a long, sleek handbag.

In Summary: The Right Handbag for You

When selecting the right handbag for your body, first factor in handbag size, shape and strap length, then take into account styling and personality.

Zane's 1st Birthday!

Zane turned 1 last week and I wanted to give him something EXTRA special!
So.................
 I
painted
him
a
chair
:).

Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Save the girls!!!

Every year as a fundraiser we have a HUGE bake sale for the Cancer Crusaders.
In the years past we have had 5 plus people baking and made it a collective event so that it isn't just one or two people practically killing themselves to bake everything for the event. I mean it makes sense right?!
Well, this year it seems as if things were a little different .....
Yesterday Leslie, Karen & I baked up a damn storm! We had everything there...

Oreo Truffles
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Caramel Corn
Pumpkin Spice Muffins
Banana Nut Muffins
Bark
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Peanut Butter Cookies
&
Brownies

hungry yet?

We sold everything for $1.
Considering we started the day without a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out......I would say we did pretty damn good for some baked goods sales ha ha.
At the end of the day we had $164!

So, with that Leslie and I took $20 and purchased a few more items to make a few more things.

Strawberry Cake
Chocolate Cake
Rice Krispy Treats
Brownies
Apple Pie
Black Cherry Pie
Pecan Pie
Sour Cream Pound Cake
&
Jana brought Chocolate Chip cookies too!!!
Eventually we put it all on a cart and pushed  it through the offices in the building asking who wanted what and giving them forks to eat it with ha ha.
You can't beat service like that!!!!

On my Strawberry Cake......
I piped pairs of boobs and pink ribbons and they turned out soooooo cute!!!

I sold this one whole for $10.

Oh....and I took things from our recycle bin and home and turned them into coin buckets. I have put them all over the building. They have our team shot from when we finished the walk last year:).
I am so very proud of my team!!!!

~Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Picnic~

September the 11th was our Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Picnic. This year was the 1st year for either of us to go because last year I got food poisoning and could leave the bathroom floor for more than 15 seconds at a time. It was lovely:).
So this year I was determined to get us there and for us to have a wonderful time with everything they had to offer!
She is the sweetest kid in the world!

There was a huge turnout that day. They said there were over 500 people that came out. Under the pavilion there were board games set up at all the tables as well as another pavilion across the street with arts and crafts. Out in the field behind this we had flag football, relay races and tug-o-war! We had so much fun!
They also had a hula hoop contest but we were tug-o-warin' at the time so we didn't get to watch that one.
After we tried to hula for a minute and neither one of us were any good at it! ha ha
Arby's provided us with lunch for the day as well as shakes for all the Little's. It was great!

A few of the Little's lining up to get their shakes.

After the shakes they announced that they were going to have a dance contest!
This big was helping her little get ready to do her thang!

This sweet little girl helped to get it started! She was such a great dancer!

And then little man came out of no where and showed us what he had!
Is he not the cutest little guy ever!!

Before you know it......

They were all out there doing the "Stanky leg".

We also had ring toss and many other games where you could win prizes.

It was such a great time!
Thanks Big Brothers Big Sisters!

Where were you?

Do you remember where you were when you heard the horrible news 9 years ago today?

8:46 am.....
in a moment....
 so many lives changed
forever.

I remember.
I was at the doctor and they had the t.v. on as well as the radio and everyone in the waiting area was glued to the t.v.
I remember feeling as if everything was moving in slow motion.
I remember feeling scared.....
Sad and unsure of what to do first.

I remember thinking about my mom and the rest of my family.

Those who lost their lives on 9/11 will never be forgotten!
